God so loved the World that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
We have been studying this verse in church for the past 5 weeks. I thought it was appropriate to post in on here today being that it is Good Friday. Until this study I hadn't fully grasped the sacrifice that was made for all of us. My pastor said something while describing Jesus' brutal beating and Crucifixion that will stay with me always. He said Jesus didn't just die FOR us but he died BECAUSE of us. Wow. I never thought of it that way and I have to say that it makes me feel much more grateful when it is put to me like that.
Here is the sermon if you are interested

I'll admit I am "that" mom
I take Mykenzie to school in my pj's. Sometimes no shoes, sometimes Travis' sandals with socks. In my defense I don't have to get out of the car and I am only gone 5 minutes. IF I had to get out of the car I would get myself presentable. I was putting the girls in the car this morning to go to school and Kaylee says to me "Mom your hair is a mess" of course I reply, "Thanks Kaylee that is so nice" to which Mykenzie chimes in "No it's not Kaylee, It always looks like that." Lovely. I just looked at her and she quickly replied "well in the mornings it does" Kids are way to honest sometimes

Cold!
Ohio in March sucks. I said a couple of years ago that I would never go back to Ohio for spring break. Now stupid me decided it would be a great idea this year. The high the whole time we will be there is 40 degrees, oh and snow. Seriously I am over winter and ready for spring!! I guess next year we will have our butts out in the cold in January going door to door selling cookies. No more phone calls to try and sell them :( This is the LAST year I go to Ohio for spring break! It is such a good thing that I like visiting everyone who lives there. Hopefully this year I will be able to see more of everyone but I doubt it. I am already booked for Tuesday, Wed, and Thursday. Sunday is Easter and Monday is Travis' bday. I have no idea when I am going to see my Grandpa, my Grammy or my Aunt or Uncle even though I really want to see all of them. I will have to figure it out. I wish they weren't all spread out, that would be easier. I guess I will figure something out. Problem is people get mad if I only stay places for an hour or 2 and move on but there is really no other way for me to do it. I have so many people to see and so little time to do it plus working around every one's schedules. Freakin stress I tell ya! Now add cold and snow to it! GRRR

For crying out loud
So it started today. My child is giving smart ass answers on her homework. She had a graph she had to fill in (no clue how to do it thanks to teacher of the year) Then the question was name 2 facts about this graph. She writes "The graph is a fool. I don't know why." Can you hear me smacking myself in the forehead?!?! Then she gave the definition of a perimeter of a triangle rather than the actual perimeter of the triangle. This one I don't think was intentional since the question only read "what is the perimeter?" Not what is the perimeter of the triangle, but geeze! She got it wrong both on the school work side of the paper as well as the homework which just goes to show she isn't actually being taught these things.
On a side note about school they are starting to do multiplication already! She is doing x1, x2 and x5. Not all that difficult but still I was surprised to see her doing it. Parent/ Teacher conference on Saturday, joy of joys. I so love talking with this lady. I was checking out the 3rd grade teachers web pages today to get an idea of who to request so I don't have to deal with this crap again. I have it down to 2 people so now I have to ask around about them. Pray we get a good teacher next year!!!

Long time no blog
Kaylee is better. Whatever she had only lasted 2 days. Right now my brother in law, Tony and his girlfriend, Jordan are here. We have been putting Tony to work in our garage. We had a leak in the roof and it was ruining the ceiling in the garage and it was getting all moldy and nasty.
We decided to just give up with our huge fight with our home warranty people and just take the $300 they offered us so we can move on and have working appliances again. It sucks cause it was a waste of money for us but it is NICE to have a microwave and dishwasher again. Travis and Tony installed both of them yesterday. They finished the ceiling today while the girls and I played in the snow (yes we got snow again!!) Then Tony put up some picture frame molding in my dining room. Now I need to figure out what I am doing as far as paint goes in there. I can't seem to make up my mind. My latest plan Travis isn't on board with at all! lol He just doesn't want to do the work because it involves painting a room we just recently did. We will see. I need to worry about finding a kitchen table and some end tables for my living room first.
Now for the snow. This time it actually covered the ground and it was like 2 inches worth. The girls made snow angels and threw snowballs but the snow was too powdery and wouldn't pack well enough to make a snow man. It is now 2pm and most of it has melted. We went out right after breakfast to play so we didn't miss our chance.
We will be going to Ohio for Spring break this year, including Easter day. We have never been there on a holiday other than July 4th and Memorial Day before. Mykenzie is hoping the Easter bunny will be able to find us. I hate going up there at this time of year cause you have to bring your entire wardrobe with you. Hopefully we will get more spring weather and less winter. Who knows since it is a flipping blizzard up there now. I am excited to see everyone. There are 2 babies that I need to meet still! We leave in 13 days I guess I should be making some plans. Time is flying and it is sneaking up on me!

Poor Pitiful Girl
Obviously I am not abiding to the terms of our bet but, whatever. Kaylee is sick and wants me to be in the same room with her so really what else am I gonna do? She woke up around 12:30am crying and saying her throat hurt, I gave her some motrin and she went back to sleep. She woke up crying at 3 saying her legs hurt. She had a fever all this time too. I figured it was either strep or the flu because they are both going around. When we came downstairs to eat breakfast she threw up. She ended up throwing up 2 more times after that. I gave her a bath and she just cried and said ouch, ouch, ouch, the whole time. she went to the doctor and had a temp of 102.5. The doctor did a strep test and a flu test on her but they both came up negative. The doctor just kept shaking her head and saying "I can't believe they both came up negative." So she decided that with the symptoms she was having and how pitiful she was that she was treating her for both of them anyhow. She said the vomiting could be from strep. And that the way she looked and was acting combine with the other symptoms she was having was exactly like all the other kids who came in and tested positive for the flu. So right now we are pushing liquids to make sure she can keep them down and then we will start the meds.
She fell asleep in the car on the way home from the pharmacy and slept until 2:10, I didn't want to start pushing liquids then since we were about to get Kenzie from school (didn't want puking in the car if I could help it) Now it has been about an hour and a half and she has kept what she has drank down and her fever is way down with the motrin.
While she was waiting for her motrin before we got Mykenzie she just laid on the kitchen floor. She was so pitiful laying there. Of course I took a couple pics

I'll be damned
So I have lost a bet. My husband and I just made an incredibly stupid bet. We just saw Laura Linney on the pre Oscar show. Travis was asking what she was on and it dawned on him that she was on The Truman Show. He said she played his wife. Well I disagreed and said that she wasn't his wife. I just saw the last the 45 mins or so of it last week and he was trying to escape so he could go find that girl who was his girlfriend. I was positive he wasn't married in that show. Well freaking Wikipedia just proved me wrong, she was his wife. So the bet was no computer for a week for me or Travis had to wash dishes for a week. So I lost so I will be off the computer for a week. Isn't that nice. Seriously, this blows. I thought I was right!!!!! AHHH!

Freak out time!
I just tried to change my background on here and when I did all of the text was GONE!! I thought in one second I had lost years of blogging! Came pretty close to a heart attack. If this happens to you please know that the template is not compatible with new blogger. So for now I have a generic blogger background till I can find a cute one that works!
If you haven't read these books, your missing out
Well not all of you. But if you like some light hearted fun chick-lit then I reccomend these books. The way Meg Cabot writes is how if I wrote a book I would want it to sound. Like a real person! I finally after many months of slacking finished the Heather Wells series, this includes Size 12 is Not Fat, Size 14 is not Fat Either and Big Boned. They are funny murder mysteries if you can imagine that! By page 5 of Big Boned I was cracking up laughing! Here is a snippit of why.
She is obviously not a thin fit person but she is dating someone who is. He has asked her to join him for an early 6am run (she is not an early bird or a runner) Here is what takes place....
"You go ahead," I tell him, with a smile. I'll be right behind you."
Tad shruggs, gives me a good-bye wink- I guess he knows as well as I do that he is going to leave me in his dust-and takes off.
Yeah. No way I am going to keep up with that. But that's okay. I'll just go at my own pace. Nice and easy. Here we go. There, see? I'm doing it. I'm running! Hey, look at me! I'm running! I'm-
Okay, well, that's enough of that. Whew. I mean, a girl could hyperventilate from doing that. And seriously, it's my first day. Don't want to overdo it.
Also, I think I felt something come loose back there. I'm not trying to overreact or anything, but I think it was my uterus. Honest. I think my uterus jiggled free.
OMG! It is so flipping funny! Go read them for yourself. They are easy, fast reads (if you actually sit down and do it) and are really funny and enjoyable :) She also wrote the Queen of Babble series (new one will be out this summer)which is also really good! Next I am moving on to Straight Talking by Jane Green :) Happy reading!

Let's resurrect a dead horse, shall we
So awhile ago I decided to bring some personal issues to light and get some opinions on the whole thing. I had a comment that came a few weeks after the fact that she wants me to comment on so rather than go back and comment in the comment section I figured I would just start a new post. You can click this link to read the original post
First of all let me talk about this point that was made.
"We are all hypocrites. The difference is the word repentance. Repentance is not just asking for forgiveness, it is turning from that sin and trying not to continue in that sin. But we can't do this alone. We need the Holy Spirit for that"
I agree we are all hypocrites! People who preach the word of God while having an affair astound me. However, if you read the Bible there are MANY things that are considered sin. Some Baptists believe that is a sin to dance. Some religions believe that it is a sin for a woman to wear pants. The Bible says that I have to obey my husband. Whatever! Love and respect, yes. Obey? I don't think so. All of these things I do, so I am living in sin because of them according to the Bible. I will not stop doing these things, so I cannot truly repent for them. Nor do I feel like I ever need to. So here is where it gets tricky, If all sin is equal in God's eyes and we all sin and will never truly repent for every sin we commit yet are required to repent all of our sin... How are any of us going to make it into Heaven? If ALL sin is the same in God's eyes, how can we assume that he just didn't mean those things and if we do those we will be ok??
Moving on to homosexuality
Here is the quote
"You said you believe that homosexuals are born gay. This is what you have to remember. God is not going to make someone gay and condemn them to hell. That is setting someone up for failure and that is not our God. Our God is love and he is for us, not against us. Also remember that Jesus came for the sick and the lost, not for the healthy. So, the people you are defending are the ones that need him the most. They are lost. And these are the ones that feel the most rejected.....Homosexuals feel rejection on a daily basis. Why? Is because they are being judged or is it because they know deep down inside their soul that something isn't right? I don't care who you are, we all at one point in our lives, question our sexuality. Every one of us as human beings wonder what it would be like to be with the same sex. You can deny it all you want but it is a temptation Satan will use to veer you off track of your life. "

I do believe that some people choose to be "gay" for a minute because they think it is the in thing. However I also don't believe these people are truly gay. That said I do think people are born gay. As for their feelings of rejection, well if you look at their lives they probably grew up with kids at school using words like "fag" and "queer" to talk to them with constant teasing and ridicule. Just like when kids in school are called "stupid", "ugly" or "fat" will always feel tormented and have feelings of rejection because of it. Also these people were brought up being taught that homosexuality is wrong, from their parents and society. How would they not feel rejected? They were probably brought to church as children and listening to the preacher tell them that gays were going to burn in hell, would that not scare the crap out of you as a child?? Most gay people didn't come to the realization that they were gay at an old age; they have known all their lives. They may push it aside because they are so afraid that what everyone says is true but since God knows are hearts he knows anyhow and it eventually comes out. Not to mention the fact that a lot of gay people are not having any of the feelings that you mentioned. They are happy, normal people living their lives being productive and are just good people. As far as the comment about we have all questioned our sexuality, well I am sorry to say NOPE! I have said that I should give up men and turn gay because boys suck, but never actually thought I would. I was born a heterosexual and there is no changing that just like there is no changing those who were born homosexual.
I won’t even get into gay marriage and how it is a travesty that the current administration wants to make it illegal as far as amending the Constitution!!! All I have to say is that if marriage is a religious thing, then why are Atheist's and non-Christians allowed to be married?? Maybe we should put that in the Constitution as well. Hmm, that will make you think huh?
I know this person was worried I was mad since I hadn't responded, but I am not. You are entitled to your opinion and I wouldn't have asked for opinions if I couldn't handle the opposing point of view. You didn't tackle abortion in your comment. I assume that was coming in part 2 of your reply. I don't plan to debate it with anyone. I am tired of doing it. My views are not going to change and those who feel the opposite of me are not going to change their minds. I have seriously talked about that issue so much that I am done....for now. ;)
And if all of that wasn't enough, here is a little food for thought. Aren’t having an abortion and the death penalty the same thing? Sure one is a baby with a clean soul and the other is a criminal. Is it our job to make that decision? Maybe God was keeping that person alive so he could repent and go to Heaven but you just decided you would make that choice for Him and now they don't have the chance. I guess you just played God, same as in an abortion. Hmm. How can you be prolife but also pro death penalty? Makes no sense to me!
*For the record I am pro-choice and pro death penalty
I am not writing to change people’s minds or start a riot! Just open your mind and get you thinking. Truth be told all of these things are simply things you BELIEVE! You may believe them with your whole heart but in the end someone will be wrong, you just hope it isn’t you ;)

Ok. here are some pics of my hair
Today I Love Aldi & Hate Old Navy. Who'd of thought?
I hit up Aldi for a few things today and while checking out some pretty purple roses caught my eye. I was checking them out and even though they were starting to wilt for $2.99 I still wanted them. The manager walked up and asked me what I thought about them. I said they look like they are dying. So he said "buy one get one free!" So I got a dozen roses for $2.99 today!! Yay! They are so pretty on my table.
Old Navy sucks. They are having the baby sale and it is 40% all the kids clothes. Perfect time to buy Kaylee some new pants since she just outgrew her 3T's. Would you believe they didn't have a single pair of 4T pants in the store!!! AHHH So I tried to order online and the freaking site is down! Dang it!

Wow
Kaylee is officially wearing the same clothes that Mykenzie was wearing when Kaylee was born! Seriously time has gone by so fast. I can't believe that Kaylee will be 4 and Mykenzie will be EIGHT!!! Geeze I am old. My 10 year reunion is coming up in September. I don't think I am going but I am keeping the option open. Mykenzie will have a 3 day weekend the weekend of the reunion so it is possible. There aren't a ton of people I would want to see and I am not sure if those I would want to would actually go! lol Maybe though.

Thanks honey!
I decided that this is big news and deserves a blog post! Travis today decided to take it upon himself to wash the massive amount of dishes that accumulated over the weekend. This isn't as easy as it seems since our dishwasher still doesn't work, so they all had to be washed by hand!! Thank you Travis for doing that, I sooooo appreciate it. I love you!

Errrr, A Snow Day???
At the risk of looking like a moron to all of my neighbors, I braved the cold and snow to you bring you this picture of our snow storm that closed all of the schools in all of the surrounding counties. Mykenzie is thrilled for the day off! When I got up this morning to get her ready for school I noticed some snow on the neighbors roof through the window. But that was all there was none on the ground or roads. But alas they closed the schools anyhow. Now it is at least starting to cover more surfaces so it makes it a little worth wild. It is so strange living in the south sometimes.

Warning* Objects (such as snowflakes) may appear larger than they actually are
Enjoy, I almost broke my computer during the making of this post. But it is ok!

Bummer
As I went to bed last night I thought of an idea for a great blog post. I was so excited about it that I almost came downstairs and wrote it. I decided I was tired and it could till today. Do you think I have a clue what it was even about? Nope.
Today is a crappy day it is pouring down rain and is just gloomy out. On a positive note Kaylee hasn't thrown up since around 8 yesterday morning and is running around acting crazy and fine so she is going to school today. I have to return some jeans to Kohls and bring my secret valentine a little treat and then I am curling up on my couch and reading my book. Have a great gloomy day guys.

What's up?
I realized today that I haven't updated this blog about what the girls are up to these days and I think it is high time soooo
Mykenzie is still loving girl scouts and just got finshed with her cookie sales. She ended up selling 114 boxes this year. We decided not to go door to door in our neighborhood this time because it was too cold and too much of a hassle. We sold to family and friends instead so thank you all who bought. Now we are on the task of delivering all of them.
She seems to be enjoying going to school alot more lately. She still isn't getting the grades I think she deserves in Math but is doing well in everything else. She got an I for improving in Math. I think she does pretty well. The only time she ever gets anything wrong is when she isn't paying attention and doesn't read a story problem right or she just skips over it completely and forgets to go back to it. She comes home with math homework every night and she does it and I check it. If she got any wrong I explain how she has to do it and SURPRISE she gets it. I don't think her teacher teaches her in a way that she can understand. I am ready for this year to be over with I swear!! They are currently working on borrowing while subtracting 2 digit numbers. She brought it home on her homework 1 night and had no clue how to do it. I explained it and gave some examples and she had it that night. The next day I get a looooong drawn out explanation to how she teaches borrowing (now known as regrouping) Well mykenzie doesn't need to do it her way she can do it fine. Of course we get a note explaining how she teaches 1 of the things that she picks up in 2 minutes, but when I send in notes specifically asking her how she does something I get no response. Did I mention I am ready for this year to be over??
Mykenzie has struggled with reading in the past. I am sure it has something to do with my lack of patience and my frustration with it. She really hated reading though and acted like it was torture. I have noticed that she was reading more and more at bedtime but I thought it was just because she was avoiding going to sleep. Much to my surprise this morning she was laying in bed reading after she woke up. And at chapter book at that! Normally she wakes up about a half hour before I get up and she goes into the loft and watches cartoons. She kept reading it all through the morning and even said, mom I love chapeter books!!!! I am so glad that she is starting to find a love for books and reading.
We have been going to church for the past 5 months with some friends and where Kaylee has always loved going and is excited about it Mykenzie has not. She has had plenty of days where she hasn't come with us because she doesn't want to go. I am not going to force religion on her so I don't make her join us. Well the past 3 weeks she has been really excited about it. I didn't let her go a couple of Sundays ago because I wasn't going to go and last minute decided to go and didn't have enough time to get them ready and she was really mad. But yesterday the whole drive she was talking about how excited she was and she practically ran to get to her class. I don't have a clue what gave her this change of heart, she just keeps on surprising me. She is growing up so fast and changing and maturing everyday.
Kaylee woke up this morning and was sleepy and whiny until we came downstairs and I was getting them breakfast and she proceeded to throw up. I caught it just in time with the trash can. A few minutes ago I wasn't that lucky and she threw up all over the kitchen. I mean all over. So apparently she isn't going to be eating today. She only had 2 saltine crackers and a small glass of juice mixed with water. poor kiddo. She is laying on the couch with me watching cartoons now. She wants food so bad and can't understand why I wont feed her :(
She is doing really well at school. She has only had 3 yellow lights all year long and only 1 of those was once she got her new teacher who can actually handle a class of 3 year olds. I am so glad she got a new teacher!! She has learned so much! She can recognize her name. She can't spell it yet but knows it starts with a K and ends with 2 E's. She knows all of her letters and most of their sounds. She also knows her numbers. They are currently practicing tracing and cutting with scissors. She does really well with tracing. It took Mykenzie much longer to grasp the fine motor skills but Kaylee has them down pretty well. I haven't seen her use scissors yet so I don't know how well she is doing with that. I didn't know where our kid scissors were so we haven't done it at home but much to my dismay she found them on Saturday. Apparently they were in the pencil holder on the desk. She found them and proceeded to cut her hair. She didn't cut a ton but she cut some of her front pieces about chin length. She is frustrated with her bangs these days and doesn't want them any more so we were going to grow them out anyhow which means we would have had to get some layers put in her hair soon, she was just getting a head start! lol
She has a friend at school named Addison. They are so cute playing together, and she named her baby that she got for Christmas after her. I asked her the other day when we were getting ready for school if she wanted her hair in a pony tail and she said, "Um, no. Addison doesn't like ponytails" When we got to school that day Addison's mom told me that she had gotten up that morning and requested that her hair be done like Kaylee's! LOL 3 years old and they are already worried about impressing their friends with their hair! too funny I think that is the reason she wants to get rid of her bangs too, cause Addison doesn't have any! lol
Last night I read Kaylee her current favorite book, Dora Saves the Mermaid Kingdom. When we were done she took it over to Travis and asked him to read it. He told her he wasn't going to read the same book to go get a different one. Instead she sat beside him and said I will read it to you. He said, good I like that idea. She sat there for a second holding the book like she was going to start reading and then she looked at him and said "but dad, I don't know any of these words" Needless to say he ended up reading her the book. It was too funny. She knows how to work it.
That is it in a nutshell. They have really bad days where all they do is fight and get in trouble but then they have days where they play great together. Seems like they come in spurts but boy I sure hate the days they are fighting!! Overall they are both doing really well and are pretty good kids. I am a lucky girl
A letter to me
Watch this video then continue reading...
I keep hearing this song on the radio and I wonder what I would write in a letter to myself at 17. It was only 10.5 years ago for me but some things would have been helpful to know.....
To Jacy at 17
Your summer before your senior year will ROCK! So much fun, but the rest of the year till the end sucks. Don't hide from your feelings this summer, go for it or you will regret it come September. You will have a break down in Mr. Hardings class, get out of there a little sooner to save some embarassement. At some point you will feel the need to write a letter, if you have already ignored my advice about going for your feelings in the summer please push that feeling aside and DON'T write it. Seriously, you'll thank me for that. Don't quit your job at Kmart, I know you hate it but stick with it. That job will give you 2 beautiful girls one day, sooner than you think. There is a guy named Aaron you'll meet at work, he is nice and you are trying to avoid going to the prom with someone else, but these are NOT reasons to date him. He will eventually tell you that you are fat and he will lick your face alot. It is NASTY! and he is a selfish ass. Plus your husband one day will never let you live down the fact that you dated him. Nikki is a whore, everyone knows that, if you would like to keep the death threats at a minimum you should keep that to yourself and not tell her new boyfriend even if he has the right to know.
In 10 years you will have been married for 8 years with 2 kids, you are still thin but your body has changed ALOT and you would kill to have the thighs from when you were 17. ENJOY those thighs and flat belly they will be gone soon so shut up and stop saying you are fat, News Flash, size 3 is NOT fat!!
It is hard to imagine with all the drama and cliques at school but you will not know any of these people soon. high school is such a TINY part of your life. At the time you can't even imagine, but really listen to your mom it is true. You wont even remember half of the things that you think you will never forget.
Be nice to Aimee, she is your little sister and you are not being a very good big sister at all. She needs love from you not critisism. It could affect the outcome of her life. Give your mom a hug and tell her you love her and appreciate her. One day you will wish that the 2 of you were closer.
I wish you would try harder your senior year to learn as much as you can. Don't work so much and study a little harder. Go to college when you graduate, you can do it in another state (when that arises)and even when you have a baby. Get your degree ASAP otherwise you will be back in school at 30.
Always remember who your true friends are and they will remain with you always. Don't be so bitchy and just have fun with your boys and your girls.
Savannah will only be for a short time so hang in there. Columbia will bring you 2 wonderful friendships and Tennessee will bring in a whole slew of friends. When Jenna tries to get you to hang out, do it every chance you get, no excuses. Hug her now and then and when she wants to get margaritas, do it. Call her when you want, you are not bothering her and if you are she will tell you :) You carry stress in your neck and throat but don't find that out till many opportunities have passed you by. When you think it is strep or a virus it isn't, go to the hospital anyhow. Don't have any regrets.
You will be so happy when you get here. You have a great life and family and are very blessed. So much to look forward to.

What would you write in a letter to yourself at 17??
Well it could be fixed
I have had 2 people come out and look at my dishwasher and microwave in the last week. The first guy ran the dishwasher and said, I think it needs a new motor. (It wasn't rinsing the dishes properly and had standing water in the bottom) The microwave turn table was making an awful noise, otherwise it worked fine. The 1st guy decided to let the microwave run with the turn table on for 3 minutes. Well it started sparking and going crazy and then lost all power. So guy #1 left and said we needed a new mircowave cause he didn't think it could be fixed now and my dishwasher needed a new motor. My warranty company called us the next day to give the report and he told them the same about the microwave but said that there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher!!!! GRRR! Then why sir do I have to hand wash my dishes??
The warranty company sends out guy #2 from a different company. He gets power to my microwave but is isn't heating so says it needs new sparks plugs and new turntable motor, if that doesn't work (but he is sure it will) then they will replace it. He actually got down on the floor and worked on the dishwasher and said it seemed to be working now so I have to run dishes through a few times to make sure it is. none dirty right now though. He even fixed the door which has been broken for a long time. It wouldn't catch it would just slam open to the floor. So hopefully the dishwasher really works and he can get the parts quickly for the microwave. I was really hoping to get a new dishwasher, no such luck
